Chena is very excited to announce the introduction of a new program
within called the Chena Swim Stars. This program will go hand in
hand with the existing club structure and is in accordance
with Swim BC's development template. The Swim Stars group will be
for 10 and under swimmers that are at or close to the 10 and under
AA qualification times. This is something that I had hoped to see
in our Club for many years. With the direction and growth that our
junior program has taken over the past couple of years, Chena is
now ready to introduce the Swim Stars
level.
This group will start off with 10-12 swimmers age
9-11. Standards for the group are that the swimmers must be
strong in all four strokes technically and physically, and be
within 15% of the Swim BC Swim Stars qualification time. The
11 year olds that will be in the group are considered
because they are approaching the provincial level, having attained
or within 5% of a AA standard. The entire group is aimed at
attaining a AAA time
standard.
We are very excited to introduce the Swim Stars group and look
forward to seeing our younger swimmers represent Chena at the AAA
provincials.
