Break through swims at SFU LMR

Over 40 CHENA athletes competed at the SFU LMR meet this past weekend and swam extremely well. Karen, Ignacio, Marianne and Thom were all very happy with how the swimmers raced, especially after some of the hard training that has been put in in the past few weeks. It was great to see some of the specific technical and race elements we have been working on in practice appear in races (like long streamlines, pacing and strategies!)

There were a number of break through swims from our athletes including: Sonia Piasecki and Jake Judkins swimming 200 Fly for the first time ever and both achieving “A” times; Emma Macrae crushing the AA times in both the 400 and 800 Free, taking 45 seconds off in the latter. Nathan Carabetta, AA in both 100 and 200 Breast; Quinlan Currie and Rhian Paterson edging ever closer to their AAA times in 200 Back and 200 IM respectively and Mashid Hosseini achieving 100% best times.

It is fantastic to see the entire team looking strong and really maturing as competitive swimmers. CHENA will be a force to reckon with at both AA and AAA Provincials coming up in June and July!

Congratulations and keep it up!
