Kamloops Meet Report

The Kamloops June Classic was a major success with 4 new AAA qualifiers and 4 new AA qualifiers. Along with the great swimming was a lot of fun cheering and being one of the loudest teams on deck from start to finish. In the provincial group Martina Villa got her first AAA in the 200 fly and never looked back as she was able to get 2 more in the 100 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. Along with the new qualifying times she won medals in all the events she swam in. Not to be outdone Sandra Kent also qualified for her 12 and under AAA in 6 events and won medals in all 8 of her races as well with 6 of them being GOLD. From the provincial development groups Aiden Joudrie and Veronica Logelin both qualified for their AA times in the 50 free and 200 breast stroke respectively. Along with new qualifiers, the PD group was taking time off all the races and getting into the finals. In the 10 and under category both Sonia Piasecki and Rhian Paterson achieved their AAA swim star time and will be going to AAA's in a month. Sonia was able to get under the 6:15 standard in the 400 free in a time trial Saturday night that had all of Chena on their feet cheering.
