Chena brings home hardware from AAs

Chena fielded one of its biggest teams ever at the 2010 AA Long Course Provincial Championships in Surrey last weekend and the team did not disappoint. Chena swimmers rose to the challenge and brought home 25 medals with Nathan Schmidt and Brianna Fong leading the way with 5 and 3 medals respectively. Other top swims came from Aleksandra Dojnov sweeping the 13 year old girls backstroke events, where she also achieved her AAA time in 200 Back; Emma Macrae placing top 4 in the 12 year old girls 400 and 800 free, and following those performances up with a bronze medal in 200 Backstroke. Raben Dommann also achieved his Swim Star AAA with an amazing 3:12 in his 200 IM while Rhian Paterson won gold in the 11 and Under 200 Breaststroke and got her AAA in the same event. Jake Judkins was a double medalist in 100 and 200 Fly placing second in both, while Karen’s girls dominated the 400 IM with Brianna, Laura and Michelle all medaling and Quinlan Currie placed 2nd in the 100 Back. In relay events the 15 and Over Boys picked up the bronze in both the free and medley relays while the 15 and Over Girls added a bronze in the medley.

What a great way for our AA swimmers to finish off the year! We can’t wait to pick up where we left off in September. Good luck to those swimmers heading to AAAs in a few weeks!
